Select the Commercial department you'd like to read about:
Display Print Trading: The Display Department sells advertising space across all of our newspapers, the associated supplements and magazines. The department predominantly deals with media buyers in advertising agencies; the Trading Manager's role is to achieve the best package for the company and the client which means that we have to maintain our targets in terms of revenue, yield (cost per column cm) and market share (volume of advertising we carry in comparison to our competitors). Display advertisers look to promote their brand to a given target consumer and will ellicit either brand saliency and engagement or response, depending on the nature of what they want to achieve from their advertising.
Classified Print Trading: The Classified Department sells advertising space to a combination of clients and advertising agencies across four key categories of recruitment, motoring, travel and property (but also business to business, mail order and public & legal notices). The main difference between Display and Classified is that whilst Display sells across all sectors, Classified tends to appear within specific highlighted sections and is focused on driving measurable response from the readers / consumers.
